Hi, I’m Gemma Lovelock

I founded Flourishing Through Change because I believe that every life transition deserves compassion, understanding and the right support.

My passion comes from lived experience. At the age of 13, I lost my father unexpectedly when he was just 34 years old. Since then, I have experienced the loss of my grandparents, beloved family pets, my older brother at the age of 44, and more recently, my sister's terminal cancer diagnosis. These experiences inspired me to qualify as a Bereavement & Grief Counsellor in January 2026, with a mission to support individuals and organisations through one of life's most challenging experiences.

Bereavement impacts every workplace, yet many employees are expected to carry on with little understanding or support. I work with organisations to create compassionate workplace cultures where people feel seen, supported and valued during times of loss.

Alongside my counselling qualification, I am also a qualified Menopause Wellbeing Practitioner. This is another area close to my heart. While working as Managing Director of a multinational marketing agency, I underwent an emergency hysterectomy at the age of 34, resulting in immediate surgical menopause. Overnight, I was navigating hot flushes, brain fog, anxiety and a loss of confidence while leading more than 30 employees and raising three wonderful children.

These experiences have given me a unique perspective on the challenges people face during significant life changes.

Through Flourishing Through Change, my mission is to empower individuals, support leaders, and help organisations build healthier, more compassionate workplaces where people don't just survive change—they flourish through it.
